“I Can Do All Things…Really?” Simple Steps to Burnout Recovery
(Part 2 of the “Learning to Pause Before You Power Down” Series)
— Millicent V. Brown

Take time to pause, breathe deeply, and recognize the beauty unfolding in your life—layer by layer, moment by moment. 🌱
This week we asked a big question: Can I really do all things… or only what God has assigned me?
We’ve reflected. We’ve prayed. Some of us have paused for the first time in a long while. And if you didn’t do it perfectly—that’s okay.
This is about progress, not perfection.
It’s about becoming.
One pause.
One prayer.
One peeled layer at a time.
📖 Scripture
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”—Philippians 2:3 (NIV)
And don’t forget the truth we’ve been holding onto:“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”—Philippians 4:13But only the things He has called you to do.
🙏🏽 Prayer
Father,Thank You for being so patient with me. Thank You for reminding me that I don’t have to carry it all, fix it all, or be everything to everyone. Show me what’s mine to carry—and what’s not.Teach me to pause, to listen, and to rest in You. Help me peel off every layer of false pressure, performance, and perfection, Until I stand confidently in who You created me to be: Fearful. Wonderful. Whole. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
💛 One-Line Affirmation
I am becoming—layer by layer—the one God fearfully and wonderfully made.
📌 Reminder: Revisit this week’s affirmations. Post them where you’ll see them daily. Speak them aloud. Write them on your heart:
✅ I can do all things—but only the things God has truly assigned to me.
✅ I will rest, listen, and obey.
✅ I am free from guilt and shame.
✅ I am worthy. Especially for Him.
You’re not behind. You’re becoming. Let’s peel off one layer at a time as we grow into the fullness of who God made us to be.
