Getting Older? … Me Too.

There was a time I could get up at 3 a.m., knock out tasks, and still have energy to spare.
I moved fast. I thought fast. I worked fast.
And then… life changed.
Earlier this year, I had a health scare I never saw coming.
The morning of my cataract surgery, I walked out of the bathroom and—suddenly—there was a thud. A boom.
My precious husband and my fur baby came running.
My blood pressure was dangerously low.
The surgery was cancelled.
I was rushed to the hospital and, for the first time since childhood tonsils, I was the patient.
Neurologists. Cardiologists. Tests. Monitors. Hospital gowns.
I was there for nearly a week.
When I finally went home, I knew this:
➡️ My number was called—but God gave me another chance.
I Can See Clearly Now
Eventually, I had my cataract surgery.
And I can see clearly—in more ways than one.
God gave me physical sight.
But He also opened my spiritual eyes.
I realized that, while I’ve been asking why I can’t move as fast as I once did…
Maybe it’s because God is teaching me that everything happens in His timing.
I’m learning to embrace this new pace.
Still Running the Race

I used to look at 70-, 80-, even 90-year-olds wearing stilettos and think:
“What are you thinking?!”
But now?
I say:
“Just be you.”
If you want to wear black, brown, blonde, red, pink, green, or blue hair… do it.
If it makes you smile—do it.
Live an incredible life for the Lord.
Want to serve Him more? Do it.
Want to start a business? Do it.
Want to learn a new skill? Do it.
Want to make changes? Do it—with God’s guidance and blessing.
Embracing Every Season
Grey hair? ✅ Check.
A bit of flab? ✅ Whatever you see…
Know that you are beautiful and worthy in God’s eyes.
No matter what someone else may say or think…
→ You are God’s child, draped in His unique and special clothing.
→ You are perfectly who He designed you to be.

Want to dance—or even learn how?
Want to speak a new language?
Want to travel, near or far?
→ It’s all in the palm of your hand because you are in His.
Getting Older? Me Too! Hallelujah!!!
And whatever ailments we face—mind, body, or spirit—let’s push through it together.

The Secret of Sarah and Abraham
I used to wonder what was wrong with Sarah wanting an infant at 99.
But God shared a secret with me…
Sarah and Abraham were renewed—mind, body, and spirit.
At 99 and 100, they had been revitalized and able to do what others thought impossible (including themselves!)—have Isaac.
Their bodies may have been renewed, but here’s the difference:
→ They still carried the wisdom and experience of a seasoned life.
Nobody but God can do such a thing.
So my sister, my brother:
Don’t give up.
Don’t give up on your dreams.
Don’t give up on your life.
Don’t give up on YOU.

You ARE worthy.
And your best years are waiting for you.
Just ask Sarah and Abraham.
Reflection Questions
Where is God asking me to slow down so I can hear Him clearly?
What “yes” do I need to say to God right now?
What “no” do I need to say so I can walk in freedom and purpose?
What dreams have I left behind that God might be renewing?

Prayer
Father,
Thank You for life. Thank You for second chances. Thank You for every year, every wrinkle, and every gray hair that testifies to Your faithfulness.
Teach me how to live this season with purpose, joy, and authenticity.
Help me say yes to Your will—and no to distractions that steal my energy and peace.
Remind me that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
And even as I grow older, I am still becoming the woman or man You dreamed me to be.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
