When the Shepherd Sweeps the House for You
— Millicent V. Brown

As I continue my journey of worthiness, God reminded me of three powerful stories Jesus told:
A woman who swept her house to find one precious coin.
A prodigal son who returned home to a waiting father’s arms.
A shepherd who left ninety-nine sheep to search for the one that was lost.
Each story is about something lost—but even more, about the One who searches.
The woman searched because the coin was valuable.
The father watched the horizon because his son mattered.
The shepherd left the flock because even one sheep was worth everything.
Contrary to what people might say, sheep are not dumb. If they were, what would that say about the Lamb of God? Jesus knows His sheep are precious, worth rescuing, worth guiding. The Good Shepherd never calls His sheep foolish. He simply knows they can’t make it without Him.
Today, I realize that even in the moments I feel lost or unseen, God is looking for me. He sweeps the house, searches the hillsides, and scans the horizon—because I am worthy. And so is my house.
The story isn’t only about the coin, the sheep, or the son. It’s about a God who refuses to leave anything or anyone behind.
Reflection Question:
“Where have I felt lost, unseen, or forgotten—and can I believe that God is searching for me there?”

Prayer:
Father,
Thank You for being the God who searches for me when I feel lost, hidden, or hurting. Thank You for sweeping the house, leaving the ninety-nine, and running to meet me when I return home.
Lord, let Your peace reign in my heart and my home. Calm every fear, quiet every anxious thought, and fill every empty place with Your perfect peace.
Remind me that I am never too far for Your love to find me. Help me see my worth through Your eyes. Let me live each day knowing You call me valuable, redeemed, and worthy.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
